1st step in regulating your blood sugar levels

When I was young I saw a commercial (haven't we all).

 A man in a blue cape, with a big "A" sewed onto his shirt, rested against a phone booth. Another guy was frantic, there was clearly emergency. The frantic man asked the super hero who he was.

The super heroes response?

"I'm super Apathy. I have all the powers of superman, just none of the desire to use them."

Sometimes  I feel like this. I majored in Biology and Physics for undergraduate and Molecular Biology for Graduate school. I have spent time studying  natural medicines and herbs. No one is more equipped to fight diabetes than I am.

And yet here we are. I would prefer to eat pasta than to eat my vegetables. I prefer my food fried that broiled. I prefer to stop at mcdonalds than to make a home cooked meal. I am super apathy.

Or at least I was, but yesterday I stuck to my diet. I did not cave to my cravings, I began my journey back to healthy.

Hydrate yourself.

Water is the reason that life exists on Earth. It is also the start of curing yourself of the majority of diseases on the planet.

Diabetes is a disease of excess sugar in your blood, blood that is made mostly of water. If you increase your water intake, then you can dilute the sugar levels. Your sugar levels are a ratio of sugar to blood volume. By increasing the volume of blood in your system you can help to mitigate some of the effects of diabetes.

Additionally, your kidneys, the bodies filtration system, are utilized excessively in diabetics. Water helps to dilute the urine, making it easier for the kidneys to filter. If you have already started to experience kidney failure then remaining hydrated is one of the best ways to restore your kidney to its original function. The average female shoud drink 9 glasses of water a day and the average male should drink 13 glasses of water a day. As a diabetic sticking to these standards will increase both the quality and the quantity of your life.
